Terms of service

Last updated 16 September 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you order printing from Kaki Press.

The agreement is between you and Kaki Press Ltd; our company details are at the bottom of this page. Email hello@kakipress.uk about anything to do with an order.

How an order works

  1. You build a quote on the site. The price updates as you choose size, inks, paper and quantity, and nothing is committed at this stage.
  2. You supply files. Separated greyscale files if you have them, or a link to your original artwork if you have asked us to separate it.
  3. You pay in full at checkout. We do not start until payment clears.
  4. We check your files and email you a PDF proof, usually within 1 to 2 working days.
  5. You approve the proof. Nothing goes on the press until you do.
  6. We print, trim, finish and pack by hand, then post it.

Prices and payment

Totals include VAT at 20%. The breakdown on the quote page lists the figures before VAT and adds VAT as its own line, so the number you pay is the one marked inc VAT. There is a minimum charge of £35 for any job, because the setup takes the same time whether you want ten copies or one.

Postage is worked out at checkout by weight and size, not estimated in advance. Collection from the studio is currently not available.

Turnaround

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 working days, and rush is 3 working days. Both are counted from the moment you approve the proof, not from when you order, and neither includes time in the post. Delivery adds two to three working days on top.

Rush costs 25% more with a minimum of £25 including VAT, and is only available on single-sided work using two inks or fewer.

These are estimates. If something is going to be late you will hear it from us before the date, not after.

Proofs

We send a PDF proof and wait. Read it properly: once you approve it, the files as proofed are what gets printed, and a typo you approved is a reprint at full price.

If we have not heard from you about a proof within 14 days, and a reminder has gone unanswered, we will treat the order as cancelled and refund what you paid less £35 for the work already done.

What Riso does to your artwork

The things below are how the process behaves, not faults, and a job showing them is not a job we will reprint free:

Cancelling

Please read this one. These orders are printed from your own artwork, so the 14-day right to cancel that normally applies to things bought online does not apply.

You can still stop the order at any time before you approve the proof. Email us. If we have not started work, you get everything back. Once we have, checking your files, separating them, or making your proof, we refund what you paid less the £35 minimum charge.

Once you approve the proof, the order cannot be cancelled and is not refundable. We tell you this before you pay, and you confirm you have read it at checkout.

None of this affects your legal rights if what arrives is faulty, not as described, or damaged in the post.

If something is wrong

Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with photographs. If the fault is ours, a misprint, the wrong paper, the wrong quantity, damage in transit, we reprint it or refund it. We cover the postage.

If the fault came from the files you supplied or from something you approved at proof stage, a reprint is a new job at the normal price.

Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Copyright and credit

You keep every right in your artwork. By ordering, you confirm that the work is yours to print, or that you have permission from whoever owns it, and that printing it does not break anyone else's copyright.

We often photograph finished prints and the printing process, and show them in our portfolio and on our social media, Instagram for now, always credited to you by name and linked to your own page if you have one. Tell us when you order, or any time afterwards, if you would rather we did not, and it comes down. Work that is confidential or unreleased never goes up. Neither does anything carrying a person's contact details or other personal information, unless we have asked you first.

We will not print material that is illegal, or that sets out to harass or incite hatred against people.

What we are responsible for

If we get something wrong, you get a reprint or your money back. We are not responsible for what a mistake costs you beyond that, such as income lost from a missed launch or a fair you could not do. Some responsibilities cannot be limited by any contract, and nothing here tries to limit those.

Privacy

What we do with your information is set out separately in our privacy policy.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction.
